Dan has trained and campaigned dogs from all over the United States and Canada. He won his first field trial at the age of nine. Currently he is the only trainer in history to ever win 4 consecutive field trial futurities, including the National Futurity Championship. He also trained and campaigned "Bit of Bandee", the only Brittany to ever with three Futurities, including the National Futurity. He is the only trainer to ever place three dogs four times at the VCA National Championship (2005).
In October of 1995 Dan retired from professional dog training and devoted his time and energy to performing seminars throughout the United States. Other endeavors including making television appearances, producing dog training videos and writing bird dog training articles for national publications. Currently he is writing a book entitled "Tale of Tails."
Dan continues to hold seminars across the country. Dan has also put on summer camps in Washington state for several years. Dan's summer camp is a great place to either tune up your dog for field trials or hunting, or to begin training a young dog.
